"On Tuesday
the 24th January, LF veterans and others took part in 2 short ceremonies.
The first ceremony was held in Gallipoli Garden where a wreath was placed
and a 2 minutes silence observed to remember those killed and injured
during the storming of the Bureau Sanitaire on the
25th January 1952.

The second ceremony was held a few minutes later at the Lancashire Fusilier
Boer War memorial at Whitehead Gardens, where a wreath was laid and a
two minutes silence observed to commemorate those who fell at Spion Kop
on the 23rd January 1900.
Many of those paying their respects at the ceremony then went on to have
a Luncheon at "The Boatyard" Hoghton."
